2020.09.28 13:32 CinephileLGBT Name a pop singer who's amazing at singing dance pop but terrible at ballads

Avril Lavigne - To be fair, her balladry singing has improved a lot with Head Above Water but back then, I used to cringe at her ballads because the lyrics were so bad and her vocal range wasn't that strong. She sounded like a high school girl singing AC for her stage school presentation. There was no genuine emotion coming through.
Sia - Now this is controversial because lots of folks love Sia and her emotional ballads. I'm in the minority. I think she's an amazing singer but she's bad at enunciating. She swallows the lyrics, she does these vocal mannerisms that make it hard to know what she's saying. Also, her ballads seem very one-note and repetitive. They always sound the same. There's no variety. If you listen to one Sia ballad, you've listened to them all. At the same time, I love when she goes dance pop. So catchy, it's a pity she doesn't do them more like Gasoline or the underrated Fist Fighting a Sandstorm).

2020.09.27 15:10 heinzdoofenshmirtz2 He was a boy, she was a girl

In "sk8r boi" by Avril Lavigne she explains "he was a boy. he was a punk". So now, we understand that he was a punk, ok. But then later she says: "all of her friends stuck up their nose, because they had a problem with his baggy clothes". Now correct me if I'm wrong, but punk kids didn't and don't wear baggy clothes, seems like the usual attire has been tight clothes for a long time now. Moreover, the song title presents an even bigger problem. Was he a skater boy???? Or was he a punk?? Because she does also give us the information that "she turns on TV, guess who she sees: skater boy rockin' up MTV" so we know he's been working on his musical career for a while now (the only sort of chronological timeline we get is that she says five years from now; explaining the time she witnessed his MTV appearance) but regardless, his musical talents were enough to credit him a spot in national TV.To me, it seems that he was more of a musician rather than a skater. We actually don't get to hear any information on his skateboarding abilities. Actually, we don't even know if skateboarding was his medium, he could've been a rollerskater or even an ice skater. We just don't know. The track leaves us with many more questions rather than answers, and frankly, I'm upset. She says in the song "now i'M with the skater boy" but it's almost impossible not to assume that would be AFTER his MTV performance, so why does she refer to him as the skater boy?? How dare she not praise him for his musical success?? it makes no sense. With all that being said, 10/10 fantastic fucking track. I would listen to it again.

2020.09.26 22:14 Sparaco_Bro97 From Producer to Sensational vocalist: a continuous journey.

Starting his journey into his production after high school he immediately started to make a name for himself. First introducing himself as Jackson, his real name, he later changes it into his known Jakkyboi name. But before moving on, let's dive a little deeper into how he got into his art. Before high school he was in and out of bands with sounds of pop punk. Later to move into more of the emo rap sounds hes mostly known for to many of his listeners. It wasn't until 2018 after making numerous beats, mainly getting the attention and working with convolk, when he wanted to move onto a different route.
It was in 2018 when he dropped his first vocal song "Avrl Lvgn" and subsequent EP "Just A Boi" following a little after this release. Before this, his following didn't know the voice of the one who made these emo rap beats that they oh so loved. But the song, though he thought was risky because he wasn't sure how people would react, was reacted with great support. People saw that his tone in the song was genuine and unique that, in an instant, was his own style. The song itself takes you back to the early 2000's with a familiar pop punk guitar that makes the listener reminisce that of blink 182 and Avril Lavigne, with makes the title of the song remarkably well titled. His perfected vocal range can be heard throughout his songs, a couple being "Crazy Over U", and "Always On My Own" that gives them a sort of raw emotions over love and hate throughout his journey.
Though he does have some work out his presence has been mildly quiet just dropping his song "Don't Know Why I Even Fucking Liked You" featuring smrtdeath not too long ago, his listeners are patiently waiting to see what more he has in the works. His songs subject a small variety of thinks that you'd expect to hear from someone wanting to flex on those who broke his heart and his friendships. He definitely deserves alot more credit and alot more listeners wanting to expand their listening experience.

2020.09.23 19:17 Scaredy-Chad Really looking for an outside perspective

Hey everyone, I’ve been having a serious gender crisis since Christmas of last year and I’m super confused and desperately want an outside perspective to put my thoughts. Around Christmas I came across the transition channel and it made me really consider that I am truly transgender. It makes so much sense when I look back on my life and consider how I feel right now.
My earliest trans memory is when I was 5 and my parents painting my nails with a clear coat thing to make me stop biting my nails and I loved the look. When I was seven, Sk8erboi by Avril Lavigne came out and I tried to switch some other lyrics to be “I was a sk8er boi” instead of “I was a sk8er girl” and it felt totally wrong and foreign to say I was a boy instead of a girl. I just decided its cuz the real lyrics just sounded better.
From 7-10 I absolutely adored Britney and Jamie spears and Jessica Simpson. Not in a lustful way, more like they are so cool and the best and perfect! Idk lol
It was also this age I got bitter id have to be a father when I grew up. I really wanted to be a mom and thought moms were the best and had the best life. In general too I also thought being a girl was better than being a boy and would make my life betteeasier.
I also had long hair at this age and I loved it and hated short hair but my grandpa said I looked like a girl and my parents made me cut it and keep it short since.
Around 10 I found a penthouse letters in my house and it had a gay story in that really made me feel weird. I asked my dad what gay meant and he told me gay people are men who want to be woman and should be shot (ughh hello lesbians and everything else wrong with this). Also, with the threat he’d take either of his kids out to do this if they were gay. I think this was the start of my repression. My family is super bigoted and this was the start of his indoctrination for me in relation to those views; it took me 10+ years to break out of it and learn what he would call “snowflake” beliefs.
At 12 I started to get really jealous of the girls wearing booty shorts around school. This was the first time I dressed as a girl when I came home and stole some of my mom’s short shorts and panties from the 80s(still feel bad but over 10 years later she still hasn’t touched any of those clothes). It made me feel so happy and true; but also turned on. After this I would periodically dress up but I never went farther or told anyone or anything.
From 12-14 I had a homeroom with groups and when I was 12/13 there was a trans girl at our table. I still had no idea what that was and thought he was gay and like to dress like a woman. She was treated terribly. Made me really scared to ever even give my feelings any light of the day.
It was also around this age I started to develop what I call “vagina envy.” I was jealous that girls didn’t have anything in the way and got longer, better, and multiple orgasms. I really wanted a vagina. I didn’t hate my dick(still don’t) but I really wanted a vagina and would trade if I could.
Additionally, (NSFW) I started to masturbate around 13. A few of my fantasies were M4M but the majority (95%+) were about lesbians. And I found that I was spending the majority of my fantasy focusing on what they were wearing instead of them. This lasted from 13-15 or so, then I started to imagine myself as the girl from 15-18. This was the age I tried makeup and accidentally went to school with some mascara on. I didn’t realize for a long time but all the girls knew lol (cute eyelashes, ur eyes are really pretty, did u do something new to ur eyes?). One girl even called me an egg(wish I knew what that meant back then!!!!!!). Probably didn’t help that at a party I made out with her best friend and thought my dick was gross and nobody would like it cuz I don’t really so I tucked without even knowing about tucking lol we dry humped so she knew.
At 16 I went clothes shopping with my mom(one of the only times, id usually just let her get what she wanted cuz I didn’t care) and was looking for a certain style of sweat pants and I didn’t find any I liked til I came across this yellow pair. I really liked them and the look and got them. Did not notice they had no pockets so when I got to school I was informed theyre girl sweats and I was just like idc they look good and I like the colour lol (I was a football player so no one really questioned me).
At 18 I stumbled upon sissy porn and figured I just had a fetish(upside tho, I finally came into contact with some transgender material, not the sissy stuff but searching through it sometimes you would find a trans blog or something). Eventually though I did a shrooms trip (around 19) and confronted some of my feelings. I decided I was trans and wanted to be woman but that it would hurt my family too much and it was selfish to do it. I decided I couldn’t be happy without transition or without family, both of which were impossible together. Therefore, I decided to live my life for them; to be the version of me that would make them the most happy.
I still fantasized and relied on sissy porn, but eventually I convinced myself it was a fetish and I needed to quit in order to be normal again so I stopped and forced myself if I had to masturbate to imagine straight scenarios with from the guy’s perspective. This lasted for a few years til I gave in again last year and it felt so right. But something changed; now I was imagining being a fully transitioned woman with none of the sissy elements, purely a w4m or w4w. And it felt so good. Additionally, around this time I got into the best shape I had ever been in (6’2 225lbs 10% bodyfat, I know humble brag lol) and still hated my body (always had). So I decided to get bigger and that made me feel worse. My shoulders were literally making me sick to my stomach. So for the first time ever I let myself explore these feelings and try to connect to some non-sexual lgbt spaces online. This led me to the transition channel. That channel made me realize I probably am trans and its not selfish to want to embrace it. A comment on their video led me to egg_irl.
egg_irl put all my feelings into words and showed me I’m not alone. The trans subreddits in general showed me that my feelings are somewhat common for trans people. This made me think I’m for sure mtf. When I read the above essay it seems obvious but I still don’t know. Idek why I wrote this all out. I guess I just want validation that people think my story could indicate I’m trans.
Thanks to anyone who actually read this haha

2020.09.17 09:10 SatorixTianshi What am i?

I'm really struggling with my sexuality. I 100% want to be a lesbian. I connect more with girls, i want to marry a girl, i find girls absolutely beautiful, my heart gets so giddy when i see a attractive woman. When i was younger my favorite song was girlfriend by Avril Lavigne and i would stare at her for hours lmao. I also had constant sex dreams about my girl bestfriend when i was 7??? Majority of my sexual exploration has been with girls and I've kissed nearly every female friend I've had. I spend a majority of my time listening to lesbian songs, consuming lesbian movies and games and tv shows, anything thats wlw, taking sexuality quizzes, reading the lesbian masterdoc, and watching youtube videos about sexuality. The thought of being with a girl is exhilarating. But I'm scared my current crush is nothing more than a friendship? I really like her, shes so pretty, funny, charming, playful, gentle, kind, and thoughtful. We always flirt back and forth (idk if its a joke to her?) and honestly, despite the fact that its long distance and i don't want that type of relationship if she asked me out i wouldn't be able to say no to her. But what if its just that? Friends?
I identified as bisexual since i was 9, and then straight for two months before identifying as lesbian (?) for the past month. I guess i thought liking guys and girls was the natural order of things? But i genuinely viewed my crushes and boyfriends as just friends. I only dated them to have a boyfriend and to fulfill a selfish desire of feeling like someone loved me. I have never genuinely had feelings for a guy and the thought of ending up with a guy makes me irrationally angry. I takes me about 2 days to get over a male "breakup".
But my dilemma is, what if I'm lying to myself? What if I'm straight? I don't want to end up with a man, the thought makes me uncomfortable. But what if physically, i can not be emotionally attracted to females and their just friends to me?

2020.09.16 18:11 akstary Would you say something? Hair color didn't turn out as I would have liked.

I have long, naturally golden blonde hair.
My husband has really liked the few times I have had color done, so I decided to make an appointment with an independent stylist. If you Google “light pink ends on blonde hair”, you can get a pretty good idea of what I sent to the stylist as inspiration.
The appointment was yesterday, and the stylist mentioned that she would have to lighten my ends for the pastel pink to stick. Okay, no problem. She then gave me a number of options to choose from:
I choose the dusty pink, as that seemed to be the closest match to the inspiration picture.
Now, here is where I think I went wrong: a few times before and during the appointment, I mentioned that I work in a professional office, and that I wanted something more subtle/not too crazy. I am allowed to have dyed hair, but I also didn’t want to walk in looking like Avril Lavigne.
After I got home and my hair fully dried, I took a look at it. The pink seems to be noticeable when I take pictures; however, it is very difficult to notice otherwise. Both my husband and a coworker said that they “wouldn’t be able to tell unless it was pointed out to them”.
I am feeling pretty disappointed, especially since my husband was really looking forward to this. It seems like we kind of just threw away $150, as it is tough to tell a difference unless in pictures.
I am a very non-confrontational person, and I don’t know if I should say something to the stylist. I worry that I kind of brought it on myself by (1) Telling her I wanted it subtle (2) Choosing the dusty pink over the bubblegum pink. I did want something more subtle, but I wanted more than this… Ugh.
Would you say something in this situation? Do you think it would be rude considering my requests?

2020.09.16 12:13 ManonFire63 The Blind Leading the Blind

I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these things. (Isaiah 45:7)
A lot of people have not understood God and the Bible. To understand God and the Bible, someone needs context. Given I was going to play Thomas Aquinas, and post things about God and the Bible on /metaphysics, I may have been banned suddenly. Why? Some people have been doing wrong. Given we are growing in understanding of God, and verses like Isaiah 45:7, in context of men, some people have been doing wrong. Was someone a false teacher? Internet search "The Wicked Bible concordance?"
Sometimes people have had a "Philosophical God." God in a vacuum looking at absolutes. God of the Bible created man. Man has been made in the image of God. What man does reflects. The spiritual is like a mirror? Someone talking about God in that context, a relatable God, some people have not liked that. They were reflecting the wrong things? They were a possessed person.
Song: Precious Declaration.
The Kingdom of God is a political philosophy. Working to understand God, there may be some hard Truths. The Truth hurts. Knowledge brings sorrow. Ignorance is bliss? How did you turn God? Did you like blessings or misery?
Man is the Head, Woman the Neck Turning the Head
Through Dr. Jordan Peterson, I became aware of Dr. Carl Jung. I don't like Dr. Carl Jung. A lot of what he taught assumes "Occult Person Outside of God." Someone growing in Faith, working to be of One Mind with God is different. (Philippians 2:2) Dr. Carl Jung wrote about the Anima and Animus. These may have had some associations with some Christian concepts. I have been shepherded towards 1 Corinthians 11:3. We have an association of God - Man - Wife in a hierarchy. Man is meek before God. Woman meek before her husband. Faith is like a marriage.
(This has been a complex topic. Some of this may be going at high speed for your average Reddit reader. I am assuming you know something about Dr. Carl Jung, or have been smart enough to go internet search him, and come to some understanding. I am assuming you are capable of reading comprehension, and can read the Bible. Knee jerk reactions make you a resister to the Kingdom of God and show you to be uneducated and incapable.)
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. (1 Corinthians 11:3)
Faith is a lot like a marriage. Man goes to work, and puts in a hard day. He comes home, and finds his house clean and dinner on the table. Faith is evidence of things unseen. (Hebrews 11:1) Man didn't necessarily see his wife clean his house, or cook his food. He found evidence of things unseen. Given man comes home day after day, and finds his wife faithful, he grows in trust a faith with her. Faith is a knowledgeable dependence. God works exactly as The Prophets and Men of God in the Bible, whom he has spoken through, has said God has worked. Reading the news day to day, a man may have been able to pick up on what God has been doing in an understanding of God's plans leading to The Kingdom of God.
In an understanding of men and women, man is the head. He is a decision maker. Woman has been an influencer. She has been the neck turning the head.
Song: Back to Life.
Animus and Anima may have been more associated with marriage, and someone becoming "One Flesh." Man is meek before God. Woman meek before her husband. There has been a relationship there.
Usually when I bring up this topic, I have liked to bring up "Head Above Water" most recently.
Head Above Water (The Following Has been Posted Elsewhere Before)
I found “Head Above Water” the other day on Facebook. God shepherded me to create a teaching mechanism. The following is a series of four songs. The best way to watch it is in order. What do the words mean? What is the meaning of each song, and is there some meaning when all taken together? What is the association of various words and imagery with The Bible? Given someone needs help, ask?
Article: https://godtv.com/avril-lavignes...
Being tolerant is not a virtue. No moral person is tolerant of everything. Some Christians have been luke-warm Christians. They have tolerated evil. Given evil is allowed to manifest, may be the result?

2020.09.15 21:36 rageman2 Ranking Selena Gomez's Albums

After getting into Selena’s music about a year ago, I found that I really enjoy her whole discography and actually find it pretty underrated! I’m pretty much always in the mood for her songs since they’re so catchy, fun, and danceable. In addition to this, she has a lot of songs (specifically in her last two albums) that are personal for when I’m in my feelings. I get why people may not like her songs, but I think there’s more to her music than people give her credit for. Here’s how I’d personally rank her albums:
*6. ’A Year Without Rain’
I’d say this album is her weakest for a few reasons. First of all, it is pretty short, with just ten songs. While this isn’t inherently a bad thing, it doesn’t help that some of her weakest cuts are in this one. ‘Rock God,’ ‘Live Like There’s No Tomorrow,’ ‘Summer’s Not Hot,’ and ‘Spotlight’ (which strangely reminds me of Sisqo’s ‘Thong Song’ idk why) have to be some of my least favorite Selena songs. I don’t think they’re bad at all, but I don’t go back to them very often. However, this album does have some of her best songs, with the eternal bop ‘Round & Round,’ the still-beautiful ‘A Year Without Rain,’ and the wildly underrated bangers ‘Off the Chain’ and ‘Intuition.’ The album is pretty inconsistent and has a very ‘I’m still a Disney star but I want to grow up but I can’t due to my management’ vibe to it, so it comes across as a bit awkward. Still, thanks to its very short length, I think it’s worth checking out.
*5. ’Kiss & Tell’
I feel like this album is best described as ‘Avril Lavigne Lite’ or ‘Diet The Best Damn Thing.’ Which is not a bad thing! Following the pop-rock trend of the late-2000s, her debut record (along with her band The Scene) is a time capsule of the era it was made in. There are so many bangers that still get a good response from people (well, from my friends anyway lol) to this day, including ‘Naturally,’ ‘Falling Down,’ and ‘Tell Me Something I Don’t Know.’ Other songs like ‘As a Blonde’ and ‘Stop & Erase’ give off major Avril Lavigne vibes, which is a good thing in my book. Though she has strayed from the genre, Selena does pretty well in the pop-rock lane. However, I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes it sounds like Disney handed her songs and told her to sing. Still, she does her best with the material and her personality comes off as fun and carefree in this album.
*4. ’Stars Dance’
Speaking of fun and carefree, this album is the exact definition of that. ‘Stars Dance’ was her first solo album but has been somewhat forgotten since it came out. Maybe it got overshadowed since it came out in 2013 when another Disney star was having their ‘going bad’ moment. People have also generally disliked this album for its lack of personality and generic EDM sound. However, in my opinion, ‘Stars Dance’ is a ridiculously entertaining dance album with bangers from beginning to end. There’s truly not a dull moment, from the screams on ‘Birthday’ (I don’t care what anyone says this song goes OFF) to the insanely catchy ‘Slow Down’ and the very beautiful title track. I can see why people may have been disappointed with this album since it was her first solo venture and didn’t really tell us anything we didn’t know (pun intended) about her, but it’s still a damn fun time when you’re just in the mood to dance. Plus, it’s 2020 and life is miserable so why don’t we just stop acting so high and mighty and forgive this album already and drunkenly dance to ‘Forget Forever.’
*3. ’When the Sun Goes Down’
While I prefer ‘Stars Dance’ to this album, I do think this one is the better album critically speaking. ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ was the last album recorded with The Scene, and it showed a lot of maturity and growth at a time when she was still a Disney star. While it’s still tame enough for children to listen to, the songwriting isn’t quite as juvenile as it was on her first two records. Hell, I remember being scandalized as a kid when I heard her say “damn” in ‘Hit the Lights.’ The album continues the electronic sound that was kinda-barely-somewhat-there on ‘A Year Without Rain,’ and it ends up creating a lot of memorable moments. ‘Bang Bang Bang’ in particular is a standout track (and my second favorite Selena song period) not only for its charmingly sassy attitude but also due to its retro electronic/disco sound. Other standouts include the party anthem ‘When the Sun Goes Down’ and the strange but refreshing ‘Whiplash’ (very fittingly named), which was actually meant for Britney Spears’ album ‘Circus.’ Of her first four albums, this one has the best mix of good songwriting and great beats, which makes for a truly great time throughout.
*2. ’Rare’
Her most recent release, ‘Rare’ has received a lukewarm response in general. I don’t quite get some of the criticism it gets as I find it to be a pretty personal album with some of her best songs. ‘Cut You Off’ is a great petty/fuck you anthem, ‘Rare’ is an uplifting feel-good moment, and ‘Crowded Room’ is a genuinely beautiful song with natural chemistry between her and 6LACK. It’s apparent that Selena realized her strength lies in a more hushed delivery (even as a fan I can admit she’s not a strong singer), and this album plays into that. The songs are generally pretty chill and easy to listen to, but they also contribute to an overall story of Selena learning to love herself and move on from a past relationship (I wonder who that could be). Combined with great bonus tracks like ‘Boyfriend’ (I hoe it up to this song unapologetically) and ‘Souvenir’ (it pisses me off how underrated this song is), ‘Rare’ is definitely worth a listen if you haven’t heard it already. I know people’s opinions on the album have been somewhat middling, but I truly think it’s a great pop album that leans into Selena’s strengths.
*1. ’Revival’
While I hate to be so predictable, I really don’t think I could’ve put ‘Revival’ in any other spot. This album is when Selena officially transitioned into a fully grown and mature artist, and it remains her best work. Not only did her ‘whisper’ delivery start here, but the songwriting in this album is fantastic. Whether it's an upbeat moment like ‘Me & the Rhythm’ or a sexy and intimate song like ‘Good for You,’ Selena pulls off a wide range of emotions through both the lyrics and her delivery. Since she’s not trying hard to reach the higher notes that her earlier albums had, she has more room to emote and convey pain, happiness, and heartbreak. This album has drawn comparisons to Christina Aguilera’s ‘Stripped,’ and I can certainly see why. The album has deeply personal moments such as ‘Camouflage’ and ‘Sober,’ which show how Selena has way more depth than people give her credit for. The album is also uplifting like ‘Stripped,’ with cuts like ‘Cologne’ and ‘Rise’ being so infectiously positive that they always put me in a better mood. Not only do the songs tell stories through their detail, but this is the first time in her discography that Selena sounds fully confident and in control. This isn’t a collection of songs that Selena is singing, this is her album. She came into her own style with this one, and it remains one of the best pop records of the 2010s (I said what I said).
I think people often underestimate Selena’s music. Sure she’s not a great singer and a lot of her early discography could come across as manufactured, but I think she has greatly improved in the last few years. Selena actually reminds me a lot of Hilary Duff. Neither of their music is extremely groundbreaking, but they’re both likable personalities who have made some great pop records. Plus, who says (pun intended again) that all music needs to be deep or complex? A lot of the time, I just want a fun pop song, and that’s what Selena’s early music provides. For the times when I want something a little more personal, then her last two records provide that as well.

2020.09.15 09:18 cooli0632 Blackpink’s Singing Styles/Influences?

IMO Blackpink collectively has some pretty unique voices compared to other groups in the industry (that sound gorgeous together btw 🤩). Ik some of it was probably YG but who exactly are the artists that influenced the way Blackpink sings? And what exactly are their singing styles and techniques that make them sound so unique?
Ik Rosé is pretty nasally and uses a bright tone with subtle cracks/bends in her voice. Jisoo seems she’s also a bit nasally (not as much as Rosé) but with a darker and heavier sound. Jennie has that more smooth R&By voice and Lisa’s voice sounds babyish/cute.
I think I remember Rosé saying she wanted to sound like Tori Kelly when she was a trainee and maybe Avril Lavigne for Jennie?
Please fill me in or correct me!

2020.09.14 15:13 masochisticat my mind, numbers and colors

hey everyone, or somebody who sees this. umm...so i want to talk about a thing. if you find it interesting or you know something about it, please share this and feel free to contact me!
everything has/is a number, a color, a sound and sometimes even an animal. let me give you examples:
  1. when i think of my bed i think of: number 8, very light green (take baby blue, but make it green), a pinkish purple, but it is scratchy(?), big howling wind with leaves shaking or rain with thunder. (i couldn't think of an animal)
  2. my hair: 21 (i feel like this number is very independent and very stubborn), dark brown with undertones of dark green or bright bloodorange (my hair is faded blue, so it looks green atm), alvin the chipmunks singing sk8r boi by avril lavigne or the beginning of hooked on a feeling, angry seagull
  3. bread: 222, but depends, if it has seeds in it then 132, dull-looking green (very down to earth) and dull yellow, the ripple of the stream or the sound of practicing campfire, bear cub.
  4. tuesday: yellow, 72
  5. friday: red, 6
  6. right hand: red, 44
  7. left hand: greenish blue, 777
i cannot explain it, it just is that way. i look at something/somebody and i just get a color or a number. animals are harder. and sounds...depends on things. same with people. but if i do it intentionally it's much harder.
does anyone else do it? what's it called? am i crazy? asking for a friend :))) -grete

2020.09.13 18:24 heejinxhyunjin type of music i would want loona to experiment in their b-sides

hi orbits, how are you doin ?
i was listening jaden smith's new album and i then went back to listen to his 2019 album ERYS and i though while listening to "summertime in paris", i would love to hear loona sing a song like, a indie/guitar type ballad with reconforting lyrics and harmonizations. i think it would suit well haseul, hyunjin, vivi, and gowon's voice colors and we could have harmonization combination by lipseul (like in colors)
others type of music i would want them to experiment would be :
- something like complicated by avril lavigne (or olivia o'brien, both versions are good). as you can see, i love me some slowers songs. probably because i want our ballads queens (haseul and hyunjin) to have more lines but i would love a song like this one
- i also would be so happy if they do something like so what by jaden hossler. i think this boy is a tiktoker, i don't even know, i saw the song while searching for so what and i feel in love with the 2000 emo pop rock vibe. i think yeojin and heejin's deep voice will own this track, jinsoul, yves and olivia low register would be god-like on the track and kim lip, chuu and haseul would take the higher part. the bridge could be took my vivi, then with a canon with gowon, then with choerry (god damn i'm thinking hard right now loool)
- ungodly hour was AN ALBUM so, i would take anything loona will do who has the same vibe as a chloexhalle track. my favOriTes would be "baby girl" (imagine gowon saying 'do it for the girls" argh my feeling), "don't make it harder on me" (imagine them harmonizing like this), "wonder what she thinks of me" (the song could be about them being sidechicks or being in love with a girl, i would take everyhting cuz these vocals are GOLD) and royal (the lightstick gurls, you need to drop a song like this and it would the perfect late summer bop)
this is getting long, sorryyy
- i wanna get better by bleachers. this song means the world for me, it helped me while recovering and the lyrics are really something else. while i love against the current version, bleachers version helped me more and it's really unique and i would loona to have a song with that kind of arrangement and those really reconforting lyrics (and a guitar solo hehe) haseul could sing the bridge before the last chorus (since she's recovering from anxiety and it would hopefully be her comeback).
to finish, i choose more upbeats songs from Ms. Ariana Grande (i'm not the biggest fan of the person but i love a lot of her songs) and some songs from my UK Queens Little Mix
ariana's songs :
- NASA : cute song, mix of pop and rnb. i know the vocal lines would EAT this song ; bloodline : c'mon, the beat is so fucking amazing and haseul will slay the whistle note ; GREEDY : we all saw the iconic heejin's fancam and we know she would eat the dance (and the vocals to) but like imagine kim lip, yves, choerry, vivi and hyeju doing this dance. chuu could show the versatility of her voice and jinsoul could finally belt in her non-strained register ; goodnight n go : the vocals, the beat, the happiness, the smile you have on the face after listening to it, the last high notes (imagine kim lip doing them)
little mix's songs :
- black magic : is there a 2010's girl group song who aged as well as black magic ? no there isn't. vocals ? ✅ every girls would shine ? ✅ highnotes ? shared by chuu, haseul and kim lip (and maybe yves) ; power : empowering song, the music video is beautiful as well. imagine vivi and yeojin spitting bars by doing the rap. the vocals on this song are unmatched (perrie's intro, leighade's pre-chorus, their ad-libs/highnotes) ; joan of arc : a FEMINIST ANTHEM, this song is everything BOSS by 5H wasn't. the "oh so you’re on that feminist type?” ”HELL YEAH I AM" would sent LOONA has the ultimate GIRL POWER group
last song, even though i'm not a fan of the character : like that by doja cat. i just can help but love this song. the song screams pink, cotton candy and smell like victoria's secret perfumes. the rappers would eat the verses (i'm talking manly about vivi, gowon, choerry, olivia and yeojin but you can imagine who you want) and the "i like i like like that" at the end are such a chief kiss.
this was a long ass rant, i'm sorry. give me your opinions about my choices and listen to the songs if you don't know them. i'm also curious about what type of songs you would want them to do so comments about it, i love to interact (the song can be in any language, i mainly choose english songs, but you can use korean, chinese, japanese, spanish, french songs as you want)

2020.09.08 18:58 brettstid83 Custom music playlist suggestions?!?

I found out recently that you can play a playlist on Spotify and the game will mute its own music and just play sound effects over your playlist.
For that reason I want to create a playlist. What music would you recommend adding? I would like more related hip hop too. I love this song get low, but I will forever associate that song with Need for Speed Underground.
I’m thinking:
Three doors down - kryptonite
Blind Melon - no rain
Shinedown - monsters
Stone Temple pilots sex type thing
Offspring self-esteem
goldfinger - spokesman
Sum 41 - fat lip
AC/DC - Highway to Hell
Blink 182 - first date
Blur - song 2
linkin park - lying from you
Unlikely Candidate - novocane
Foo Fighters - times like these
Take a page from Dave Mirra’s playbook and add some sublime
Something from five finger death punch, bowling for soup, yellow card, story of the year, My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, Hawthorne Heights, Avril Lavigne
I will update the list and this thread as I find more or make tweaks if you wanna follow along. This could be a cool addition to an awesome game.

2020.09.07 04:38 We_Got_Cows RB4 DLC Sounds Muffled?

This thread isn’t meant to complain about certain signs. I just got a new surround sound system and have been loving how the music sounds. However I’ve noticed some of the RB4 era songs sound more “muffled” than the ones from earlier - especially RB1/2 era.
Has anyone else noticed this or have an idea why this is? I figured someone who really knew the ins and outs of stems or have taken a closer look at these songs would know.
I’ve noticed it on the Avril Lavigne pack, Yacht Rock Pack, Escape (The Pina Colada Song), Africa, Starships, You Make My Dreams, and the Skid Row songs.
